Newcomers Will Discover Antiques’ Allure at the Historic Annapolis Antiques Show

Washington, DC (Vocus) December 2, 2009 -- An enchanting excursion awaits newcomers to antiques (http://www.armacostantiquesshows.com) at the Historic Annapolis Antiques Show, January 15-17 at the Medford National Guard Armory in Annapolis, MD.

Celebrating its 40th consecutive year, the show brings together more than 30 distinguished dealers offering for sale more than 5,000 examples of antiques and fine art from five centuries.

Visitors will find furniture, jewelry, paintings, prints, glass, ceramics, lamps, textiles, rugs, silver, clocks, books, maps, religious icons, folk art and maritime antiques. Every item is backed by a guarantee of authenticity.

“The show is the perfect first-timer’s gateway to the world of fine antiques (http://www.armacostantiquesshows.com),” says Bob James, president of Armacost Antiques Shows. “Our goal is to provide a relaxed and friendly learning opportunity for the would-be collector or homeowner who’s new to antiques as a choice for decorating.”

Visitors to the show can also receive free verbal appraisals of their treasures by Annapolis-based antiques expert and professional appraiser Todd Peenstra.

Hours of the show are Friday, January 15, 11 am-5 pm; Saturday, January 16, 11 am-6 pm; and Sunday, January 17, 12 noon-5 pm.

The show is located at Medford National Guard Armory at 18 Willow Street. Free parking is available.

Proceeds from the show help fund efforts by the Historic Annapolis Foundation to preserve historic buildings in Annapolis and conduct educational events that celebrate the city's rich heritage.
